My friends tell me over and over that I must get rid of some of my books -- that if I've already read them I don't need them, and if I haven't read them then I don't need them, and who needs to reread books anyway. Au contraire, mon petits! What about the apocalypse? What about when I can't totter to the nearest library or bookstore? This way I'm set, prepared to huddle up in a chair without electricity and read by the light of the moon, while everyone else is using their computers for a paperweight. So what if another bookcase is going to require serious rethinking about space?
